Denim Loose Cuff Short
The Denim Loose Cuff short has a versatile fit with a classic silhouette. Size down for a more fitted look or try your regular size for everyday comfort that is still flattering. These shorts are high waisted and fitted around the hips with wider leg openings with cuffs that give these shorts a laid-back feel. Pair this style with our Opaque Tights and an Oversized Sweatshirt for the winter and wear them year-round.
Made from rigid 14 oz 100% U.S. grown cotton, these jeans are durable yet comfortable. Made in the U.S.A., like it should be.

Odd shape
I have a small waist and comparatively thick legs so I thought that these shorts would work well. I have an old pair of American Apparel shorts that I love and thought would be similar to these. I ordered a size 26 which is my usual size and they fit great in the waist but they really are weirdly baggy through the crotch and wide in the legs. The material is nice and thick and the waist fits well. Returning them from Canada is not worth it, so hopefully I can tailor them to fit better.
too big
so i know la apparel tends to run big, and i measured my waist at 31”. ordered these in a 32- and they’re huge. way too big. i like the fit but don’t order up unless you’re between sizes. other than the size, they’re super nice. i just feel like they’re gonna fall off sometimes lol
Fine
Returned, these are not like the old American apparel shorts. Quality is good but not as good as the AA ones. Also the length is kinda awkward? They weren’t as short as they are in the pic and the thick inner thigh seam was really uncomfortable. Couldn’t close my legs all the way!
Holy Grail Shorts
These are literally the perfect shorts - they're fitted in the waist, super high rise, and a great wash. These are my only denim shorts and I wear the **** out of them! Unfortunately, this means I also busted the zipper on my current pair, but they're so hearty and well-made I'm still wearing them regardless, they just take a little extra effort to zip up.

High quality rigid denim, waist runs a bit small. I may recommend sizing up especially if you are between sizes.
The Perfect Shorts
I've been looking for these forever! Great cinching at the waist with wider leg openings for my thicker thighs . Gives a great hourglass look.
if i wasn't already sold on LAA's quality, these did it for me
i'm 5'10", 145ish lbs, with big things and a relatively small waist, so it's difficult to find shorts that really fit. these are the most comfortable and high quality denim shorts i have ever worn. they don't ride up at all, but they also aren't frumpy. with a perfectly tapered waist, ideal length, and just enough room in the thighs, they put Levi's, AA, and Everlane to shame (sorry not sorry). comfortable, stylish, high quality, ethically made, and affordable at that-- you can't go wrong, especially when you consider the responsiveness of LAA's customer service team these are THE superior high-waisted short
