The Bucket Bag

Style BD94

This garment-dyed, bull denim bag has a round-shaped bottom with plenty of height to fill with taller items. It is designed like a backpack with two straps that double also function as a drawstring to keep your belongings safe. We've also added a front pocket for easy access.

Our bags are made in our in house factory in Los Angeles, California by workers earning a living wage. Each bag is manufactured and then dyed in batches, giving the thick textile of the bag a weathered texture. These bags can last you a decade and are totally washable. Dyes are extra high quality and won't fade after multiple washes.

* "Natural" color measures slightly larger in size as it does not undergo the dye process. Shrinkage may occur after first wash.

Our experienced sewers earn up to $25 an hour and no less than $17.28; additionally workers have healthcare benefits for less than $15 per week, a 401k plan, paid sick days, subsidized bus passes and favorable overtime benefits.

I really love this bag

I really love this bag… that being said, there are some serious design flaws. I loved this bag since the moment I saw pictures of it, and I wish I wouldn’t have waited so long to get it. I finally caved, telling myself that I would use it as a pickleball bag. I rarely have a need to carry a purse/backpack, but now I use it daily (instead of for pickleball lol) though I rarely fill it up. The first thing I noticed is that it doesn’t close all the way. When it is fully cinched, there is still a hand-sized gap. And, because I got the navy color, the white garment tag on the inside is clearly visible when cinched. To me, the obvious white tag diminishes the pleasing aesthetic. I promptly cut out the tag, but since it is sewn into the actual stitching that holds the bag together, I then had to mend it. The next issue is that there is no handle, which I find odd because there is an infuriatingly perfect distance between the two straps that would have been the most logical and functional place for a handle. Clip the bag on the pickleball fence? A handle would be nice. Leverage to cinch the bag shut? A handle would help. Hang the bag on a hook? Now you have to use the straps which is just odd. I would add the handle myself but don’t have the original material! Also, as another reviewer mentioned, the straps become uneven with use. But even more frustrating is how they twist. Not sure if the last critique can be helped though. And finally, it needs more inner pockets unless you plan to exclusively carry large items around. I won’t sew any pockets into it but will probably get around this by using smaller bags inside for organization. On the plus side, it’s the perfect size to hold a water bottle or bottle of wine, and I can throw a jacket in the bag instead of carrying it separately. The outer pocket is a satisfying depth. It easily fits a book so it doesn’t get crushed inside the bag. The overall look is spot on, and it hangs so nicely on the back. Plus, the Made in USA tag is perfectly placed. Oh and in case you did want to use this bag for pickleball, it fits a paddle beautifully - and the outer pocket holds a ball or two.

Backpack

Great everyday backpack! It can fit all my everyday essentials, including my food container, bulky headphones, journal, and spare pair of shoes. I got the off white color and it went through the washing machine with no noticeable shrinkage. The denim material is super thick, like canvas. You can put pins in it, which is fun (see pictures). My one minor issue with it is that the straps can become uneven. Because of the way it closes like a drawstring, when you pull one strap, the other one gets shorter. This can be annoying because I usually hook my water bottle on one strap with a carabiner, which weighs down that one strap. I just have to pull on the other strap occasionally to even out the load.

Nice staple.

Great simple bag, the straps as closure was a bit strange to get used to but overall it’s become my go to bag for heading out of the house.
