These are super high waisted, have a good hip to waist ratio, and are a little cheeky depending on the vantage point. I had to place multiple orders to figure out the sizing and washes on these, but finally settled on the dark medium wash and took a larger size. The washes were lighter in person, imo the dark-medium looks exactly like the medium looks online, and the medium was pretty light. For sizing, I'm 29.5" waist and 39" hip and size 30 was perfect. I'll definitely get the mid-length version in the future, too!

I usually take a 26/27 in shorts and I got a 27 in these. They were soo small I have to return asap and get a 28. Id recommend but only if you size up. If you want them loose id say size up 2 sizes.

The shorts are sturdy, flattering, and have the high quality I expected from LA apparel(judging from my initial wear). A couple notes on the fit: -I often wear a waist 27 or 28 in other brands of denim (Garage, Gap). After considering some of the reviews, I sized up to a 29 and the waist fits but is still snug -Additionally, the waist of the shorts sits higher than expected Overall, though, I am quite pleased with the shorts and they are a great summer wardrobe staple

I love these shorts, but the sizing guide is really off. I'm a 25 waist and got a 26 and they're still too small. I think a 27 would've fit. Oh well. Remember to size 1 or 2 sizes up!
AustraliaJust what I've been looking for
I have a 27" waist, wear a 25/26 in Levi's, Nudie and Topshop and purchased these in a 27. I prefer my denim shorts to be looser so these are perfect without being too loose. I could go 26 for a tighter look/feel. I like that even though I've got a bit of extra room in the waist I still don't get the gappy part at the back, they fit flush on my waist. They're also so comfy to sit in thanks to the loose legs. The denim is sturdy but light and they're a classic cut/style that I expect from LAA.

I have a 28" waist and 38" hips and it is SO HARD finding pants and shorts that fit me because of the difference between the two. This is the first pair I have gotten recently that fits decently. The sizing on this product is confusing, but I ended up buying my normal size (a 28"). It is a little snug around the waist (and crotch) but I do not have any of that dreaded waist gap. The legs are loose enough that they can accommodate my hips without being so loose that they are unflattering. My cheeks are hanging out a little bit and bending over is an immodest affair but it's a hot look tbh.

I ordered these in a 29. For reference, I fit into a 29 in Levi’s and American Eagle. When I saw them I knew right away they weren’t going to fit. I was able to get them past my hips which was surprising but I wasn’t even close to buttoning them. Honestly I think I would have to go up 2 sizes. The quality and wash were amazing though. Definitely gonna buy denim from here again.
